I'm Alexandros Panagiotakopoulos, a technology professional specializing in back-end programming, IoT development, embedded software engineering, and middleware solutions. My expertise extends to hardware engineering, where I create comprehensive technological solutions.
Beyond technology, I enjoy exploring new places, strategic thinking through chess, continuous learning through documentaries, maintaining physical fitness, and expanding knowledge through reading.
Graduated from Art School of Heraklion, Crete.
Graduated from the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications, University of Ioannina.
Postgraduate Degree in Informatics Engineering (Hardware Specialization), Hellenic Mediterranean University.
Outside of work, I'm building my own JRPG from scratch — which, depending on the day, is either incredibly rewarding or a great excuse to brew another coffee. Speaking of which, I run on coffee; some people debug with rubber ducks, I debug with espresso. I also enjoy reading — books, comic books, manhwa, manhua, you name it. Chess is a regular hobby too, and I'm always working on expanding my programming skills and general knowledge.
The art of photography holds a special place in my heart, as it allows me to capture fleeting moments that tell incredible stories. I thrive on planning epic motorbike and cycling odysseys, and I'm incredibly proud of my personal cycling record of 63.8km! I love being outdoors — long walks by the ocean or a lake are my reset button. Nature in general draws me in, and I enjoy exploring new places and meeting new people wherever I end up.
I'm a polyglot engineer who started from the ground up — literally. Hardware first, then embedded systems, IoT, SQL, back-end, front-end, and full-stack development. My master's thesis was a fully built RAG system, and lately I've been diving into game development while tinkering with web projects on the side. One rabbit hole leads to another — that's just how it goes. I have a soft spot for retro tech — the PS2 holds a special place in my heart, and my relationship with legacy hardware is best described as "0x0000007B and still going strong." Meanwhile, I'm slowly building a fully Alexa-driven smart home — yes, an Alexandros owns an Alexa, make of that what you will. Technology keeps evolving in ways that genuinely excite me, and I can't wait to see where it goes next.
